Most of the equipment in our cider mill dates between 1870 and 1910, and it's a real treat to operate it every fall!
Custom Cider Pressing
Apple pressing occurs on Saturday mornings during the month of October. We press apples by appointment only! Please text Laurissa's cell phone at 518-965-5762, call the office at 845-586-2707 ext 104, or email Laurissa.Vanoni@hubbells.com to schedule a time. Appointments made with anyone other than Laurissa may not be honored! A minimum of 5 bushels is needed for a pressing appointment. Visitors are always welcome when we are pressing, but you should call ahead to get Saturday's pressing schedule since our hours are limited.
Pricing
We charge a pressing fee of $25.00 per half hour pressing time slot plus $3.00 per gallon of cider pressed. We encourage customers to bring their own clean containers. If you don't have your own containers, please let us know at the time of scheduling so we can make arrangements. There is an extra charge of $1.00 per container if we supply them.
The quantity of juice varies with the type and quality of apples, but a bushel will usually produce somewhere between 2 to 4 gallons of juice. On average, 5 bushels will yield about 15 gallons of fresh cider (apple juice).
